2006 Conference

Retrospective on 2005 Conference from Governor Cathy's column May 13, 2006 ...

The 30th annual Founder Region conference was held on May 5, 6, 7, 2006 and what a success it was!  There are so many people to thank:  S. I. Clear Lake for their outstanding job as hostess club; Christine Naber, a first time attendee who stepped in as Credentials Chair and did a fantastic job; Linda Bozorgnia and Kelly Slater, Registration Chair and Treasurer, both of whom kept us on track; the Legislative Advocacy Committee who put on a thought provoking workshop; Dawn Marie Lemonds and Linda McDoniels who gave us updates on our Quadrennial Project and SIA’s fundraising goals; the clubs who shared their successes; and the Chairs who presented our awardees. Sue Miller, who stepped in for President Jean Barth and did an outstanding job.  Her warmth and sense of humor made all of us feel very comfortable and I know the members of Founder Region made her feel comfortable also.  A very special thanks to Del Nickerson, Conference Coordinator who made it happen and made it fun. But most importantly thank you to all who attended, I hope you left on Sunday saying “What a wonderful week-end, I’m so glad I didn’t miss it.”
